Knights at the Devín Castle

The Fellowship of Ancient Martial Arts and Crafts humbly dares to invite their nobles to Devín Castle to see the unseen, hear the unheard and experience the unseen!

On Saturday, August 5th, it’s time again to experience the revival of knights and brave warriors at the majestic Devin Castle overlooking the confluence of the Morava and Danube rivers.

10:00 – Opening of Devin Castle gates

11:00 – Opening ceremony

12:00 – Roses and Swords

A rhymed fairytale from the medieval era for children and adults alike, featuring a gentle princess, a mighty king, a good and evil prince, and a storyteller who can magically change the course of fate.

13:00 – Medieval Dances

A fairy tale story full of dancing from the simple folk environment, filled with dreams and magic.

14:00 – Richard the Lionheart

A fencing-theatrical medallion dedicated to this important medieval figure and the events leading to his capture on the territory of Austria.

15:00 – Magical Interlude

16:00 – Medieval Knight Tournament

A knight tournament from the second half of the 14th century, where not only knights but also their horses are dressed in colorful garments adorned with heraldic symbols. The tournament is accompanied by a jester who comments on each knightly discipline and the final knightly bows with staffs in verse. The atmosphere of medieval knightly contests that will leave no viewer indifferent!

17:30 – Recital of Period Music and Poetry

A selection of prose and poetry performed by fencing master Peter Kozu, complemented by Renaissance musical accompaniment.

18:30 – Closing Ceremony

Fencing duels and flag-waving as the final punctuation mark for the event.

19:00 – Event Conclusion and Closing of Devin Castle

The sequence of individual programs may be adjusted before the event itself, and changes to the program are reserved.

Throughout the day, various amusements and pastimes will be available:

  • Archery with bows, crossbows, and knife throwing
  • Riding on live and wooden horses
  • Children’s corner with various games – catapult, stilts, throwing rings on a unicorn, throwing rings on swords, tossing balls into a dragon
  • Craft and sales booths.

After purchasing a ticket, in addition to our performances, you can explore the entire castle area with all its beautiful corners and interesting exhibitions.

  • Discounted: €6
  • Large family (2 adults and 1-3 children): €27
  • Small family (1 adult and 1-2 children): €15

Please note that there is a ban on entry with dogs at Devin Castle, with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired.
