Lajos Szalay – Koloman Sokol – Pablo Picasso in GMB

The Bratislava City Gallery invites you to a March lecture for the public. The lecturer Vladislav Malast is presenting the Lajos Szalay – Koloman Sokol – Pablo Picasso exhibition, on Saturday 12, March at 17:00. We also inform you that the exhibition has been extended by two days, Monday and Tuesday 14 and 15 March 2016.

Sokol and Szalay probably never met and probably did not even know each other’s work, yet surprisingly had a lot in common. They were elementally figural, brilliant and even renaissance cartoonists and sensitive to current social situations. The work of both went beyond their home country and their work influenced several generations of artists. Both had multiple points of contact with the artistic giant Pablo Picasso, so the joint exhibition of all three artists were too good for us to have this opportunity slip away.

Entry: €4.50, seniors €2. Not necessary to make a reservation. Commentary lasts an hour. The gallery closes at 18:00.
