The Decalogue about Bagpipes

This is an exhibition in the Music Museum (part of the Slovak National Museum) dedicated to bagpipes. Exhibited are several types of this beautiful musical instruments with comments about their hand made production and other aspects.

The history of the bagpipes lies deep in the past and is not fully discovered yet. They spreaded on the european continent around 300-400 AD and can be found in many modifications amongst several nations. Bagpipes played a significant role in slovak folklore and history. They appear in almost every folklore event in Slovakia and this tradition is being well kept.
