The upcoming weekend will be one of the peaks of the 2016 tourist season

The upcoming weekend (June 24 -26) will be one of the peaks of the 2016 tourist season in Bratislava in terms of traffic. In addition to many tourists who are in Bratislava during the tourist season, major events are held during this time, thanks to which we are expecting a significant increase in foreign and domestic visitors to our capital city. Events organized in the city center, such as Coronation Festival, Bratislava City Downhill, Frankovka Festival, Cirkul’art 2016 – New Circus and Theater Festival, International Guitar Festival, NEON Festival, Dolce Vitaj, as well as many other major events testify to the rich offer of Bratislava for all visitors during the upcoming weekend.

Please also take note that two gatherings or processions have been announced for this weekend, which will increase the concentration of people in one place. A march called “Stop the Dissolution of Europe, together for Slovakia against the dictates of Brussels!” is announced for Saturday. It will start at 3:00 pm in front of the main railway station and then it should move towards Freedom Square, and should be completed by 5:00 pm. A gathering entitled “Antifascist Mobilization”, which is planned at SNP Square from 3 pm – 6 pm is announced for the same day.

We hereby want to ask you to avoid the given locations (route from the Main Train Station to Freedom Square, around the Presidential Palace, Parliament Square, Bratislava Castle and SNP Square), thereby avoiding unnecessary complications that could sour your stay in Bratislava.
