Discover hidden Jewish Bratislava by Presporacik
Do you want to discover the Jewish treasures of Bratislava? Get on the ‘Presporacik’ red bus and imagine what the city looked like before the Second World War and the Communist Era. The sightseeing tour begins in front of the Slovak National Theatre and continues along the Danube embankment up to the former Jewish quarter Vydrica. There are attractive landmarks to discover, such as the mausoleum of important orthodox Rabbi Chatam Sofer, ruins of the water tower or old Jewish cemeteries. See the Rybne námestie square, where the Neological Synagogue once stood. Today, this is where you can find the Holocaust Memorial, the Wall of Memories and the memorial board with a picture of the ruined synagogue in memory of the Bratislava Jews. Afterwards, you’ll explore other Jewish monuments in a former ghetto below the Castle. At the end of the tour, Presporacik takes you back to the starting point – in front of the Slovak National Theatre.
