Unless otherwise advised by the airline, passengers are obliged to arrive at the airport and check in for their flight according to the originally specified time, i.e. ideally 2 hours, but no later than 40 minutes before the scheduled flight.

Several taxi companies offer their services in the city as well as at the airport. Taxis standing at taxi ranks are usually more expensive. A cheaper option is to book a taxi by phone or via a mobile app – the most widely used application is called Hopin ( The journey to the city centre takes approximately 15 minutes.

To get to the Central Railway Station from the airport, take bus 61 and get off at the Hlavná stanica (Central Railway Station) stop. To continue to the city centre from the railway station, take bus 93 and get off at the Hodžovo námestie stop or take bus X13 and get off at the Námestie SNP stop. Alternatively, the tram 1 connects the railway station with the city centre – get off at the Poštová–Martinus stop

The airport provides passengers with various possibilities of their registration and check-in – be it through the SMS/MMS, via the internet (Web Check-in), or self-service kiosks (Check-in Automaten) directly at the airport, and, of course, personally at the check-in counter. The check-in is often possible on the eve of the day of flight, but no later than 2 hours prior to the departure.



You can take a taxi from taxi ranks directly at the airport, or you can use the “Taxi & Limousinen Service”. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes when using the first class road via Hainburg and costs about €50. When using the motorway, the journey is 10 minutes shorter and costs about €60.


Transport between Bratislava and the Vienna International Airport is provided by various coaches operating several times a day. The journey takes about an hour.
