Post-socialistic city
During the 40-year of communism, many areas of the city were changed beyond recognition.
Evidence of the boldness of the communism experiment is abundant. From the remarkable housing complex project in Petržalka, to the concrete bunkers dotting the border between Austria and Slovakia, the striking UFO bridge to the various memorials to the fallen soldiers (who liberated Bratislava from the Nazis). Get lost in the history and admire the remnants of the times which are not yet forgotten by many.
