Fans from across Europe poured to Bratislava for the concert of the legendary Australian rock band AC/DC. On 21 July, they performed at the Bratislava Vajnory Airport in front of 100,000 fans. The concert that shook Bratislava all night is part of the band’s newest European tour titled Power Up.

Coordinating and organising the concert was a praiseworthy undertaking, with up to 1,500 people participating in the construction and organisation and 300 trucks bringing the equipment needed to construct the area. The concert had world-class sound and lighting effects, ensuring all attendees could hear the band, regardless of where they stood.

Supporting sustainable mobility

One to echo across generations of fans in Bratislava, the concert is part of the band’s Power Up tour named after their eponymous album, published in 2020. Several long-distance trains stopped in Vajnory to encourage attendees to arrive sustainably. In cooperation with the Slovakian Railway Company, the organisers also provided shuttle rail transport from the main train station in Bratislava to the Vajnory Railway Station and back.
