Kvapka – večer pri naturálnom víne: Vinařství Válka

Bratislava has a new home for natural wine. The Nahé vína project is joining forces with Rómerov dom to present a series of regular guided tastings with international participation, titled “Kvapka – Evenings with Natural Wine.”

The third evening in May will feature the Moravian winery Vinařství Válka from Nosislav. The family winery was founded by Karel and Milada Válka in 1991 and today cultivates approximately 11 hectares of its own vineyards. From the very beginning, it has followed the path of ecological and organic cultivation, with an emphasis on a respectful relationship with the landscape, soil, and local terroir.

The Nosislav vineyards are located in the Výhon Nature Park, on the southern and southwestern slopes with views of Pálava. The soils here consist of a mix of clay, loess, limestone, black earth, and sand, which gives the Válka wines diversity, depth, and a distinct sense of place. The winery works with traditional regional varieties such as Welschriesling, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pálava, Blaufränkisch, and Cabernet Moravia, as well as its own cuvées.

Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, they strive to intervene as little as possible. The grapes are harvested by hand; they do not use industrial fertilizers, pesticides, or systemic treatments; fermentation occurs spontaneously without added yeast; and the wines are produced with a minimal amount of sulfur. In addition to classic organic wines, they are increasingly focusing on natural, unfiltered, and orange wines, as well as pét-nats.

Válka Winery is proof that an honest family winery can be both traditional and vibrant, open to experimentation, and sensitive to nature. In 2023, it won the Winery of the Year award in the small winery category and also the Farm of the Year 2023 title.

The tasting will be structured as a guided tasting of several samples, accompanied by a gourmet snack from the Rómer House kitchen. Due to the limited capacity of the historic premises and the intimate nature of the event, we recommend booking tickets in advance.
