Literárny salón: Arne Semsrott
On Monday, October 6, Arne Semsrott, author of a bestseller on the rise of right-wing extremism in Germany, will visit the Goethe-Institut.
Arne Semsrott is a German political scientist, journalist, and activist. Since 2014, he has led the non-profit organization FragDenStaat, which fights for free access to information. In 2024, he published the book Machtübernahme: Was passiert, wenn Rechtsextremisten regieren (Seizure of Power: What Happens When Right-Wing Extremists Rule).
At a time of growing anti-democratic tendencies in Europe and around the world, the book immediately became a bestseller. In it, Semsrott describes autocratic scenarios of extreme right-wing government power and offers possible strategies for protecting democracy.
Michal Hvorecký will talk to the author at the Literary Salon event.
The event will be held in Slovak with simultaneous interpretation into German.
