Novotvar 2025

Bratislava will transform into a city of literature for four days from October 8 to 11.

The 10th anniversary edition of the Novotvar International Literary Festival will feature meetings with authors from around the world, new books, poetry, prose, music, and performances. The festival will take place at the V-Club on SNP Square and will be complemented by readings and discussions at the Old Town Library, University Library, French Institute, Czech Center, and at high schools and secondary schools.

Novotvar was established in 2016 with the aim of presenting literature as a living organism that responds to the present. Every year, it brings big names such as Anne Carson, Etgar Keret, Michel Faber, Sheila Heti, Simona Vinci, Petra Hůlová, Luljeta Llhesanaku, Michal Hvorecký, and Ivana Gibová to Bratislava. Novotvar opens up space for conversation between authors and readers and offers a varied program full of readings, discussions, and artistic experiences.
