Saxophobia Bratislava 2026: Concert of 100-member saxophone orchestra

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Slovak Radio will present an orchestra composed solely of saxophones. It will consist of 100 participants from 11 countries and lecturers from the international master classes Saxophobia Bratislava 2026, and will feature almost all types of saxophones, from soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass to the rare contrabass saxophone.**

Programme:

Under the baton of Anton Popovič, compositions by J. S. Bach, B. Bartók, and D. Milhaud will be performed. The program will be complemented by chamber ensembles from various countries, and Ivan Danko’s composition Collapse Quartet will be performed in its world premiere by the Pressburg Saxophone Quartet.
