Ventolin + Sunnbrella

Electronic producer Ventolin returns with the album Všetko najlepšie (All the Best).

The new recording by musician and academic David Doubek ranges in genre from psychedelic acid techno to jungle, disco, indie pop, and hip hop. For the first time in his discography, he invited another singer to collaborate on the album – rapper MC Gey. Všetko najlepšie is a collection of songs that Ventolin wrote and recorded in 2024. They are united by a search for joy in music and writing, despite social and civilizational circumstances and personal fears and anxieties.

„Compared to previous albums, this time I tried a number of different approaches, switched between several studios, and each song went through many versions. The result is greater sonic and emotional layering. I still rely on the analog sound of synthesizers, because I feel most comfortable in that rattling dissonance, but I also used quite a few digital instruments. The album also features the most guitars of all my recordings, and I sing on it more than ever before,“ says Ventolin.

Sunnbrella is a solo project by musician and producer David Žbirka, who was born in Prague but currently lives and works in England. His work references the British shoegaze music scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
