Zuzana Pustaiová: Survival Guide

How would a person behave in the event of a nuclear reactor accident? Would they know what to do and how to deal with the immediate risks? How would they behave towards their loved ones? And how would society cope with such a hypothetical crisis situation?

These and similar questions are explored by author Zuzana Pustaiová in her fictional documentary project Survival Guide. On the one hand, it is a literal „survival guide“—seemingly bizarre, yet genuinely useful practical instructions on how to effectively protect one’s health using common household items. On a broader level, the author reflects on the social phenomena that would inevitably accompany people in their attempts to save their own skins, and the moral dilemmas associated with them.
