Sound Workshop for the Blind
A part of the accompanying program of the „One World“ festival will be the „Sound Workshop for the Blind“, which will take place on November 9 at 5:00 p.m. at VŠMU.
The goal of the event is to find answers to questions about the function of sound in audiovisual creation. Film sound is built in relation to the image and in relation to that it creates an acoustic space in which communication takes place. Is it possible to replace the story in the picture with sound even without words? Apart from descriptive narration, what does sound speak to us about and what can it say all at once in one moment? Is sound universal for all people in creating narrative and associative perceptions? At the event, samples from films will be listened to, and through an open analysis of auditory perception, participants will try to gain a deeper understanding of the language through which films speak to them.
The workshop will be accompanied by the sound master and teacher of the Film Faculty of VŠMU, doc. Dušan Kozák, ArtD.
