It is not to be protected because it serves people, but because it exists. This unprecedented event attracted global attention.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many consider it a paradigm shift comparable to the abolition of slavery or the introduction of women&#8217;s suffrage. Many* others speak of &#8222;constitutional lyricism&#8220; or &#8222;constitutional populism.&#8220; A plethora of academic articles, books, dissertations, and art projects attempt to grasp this ambiguous situation in which Ecuadorian law finds itself. The lecture will introduce the concept of subjective rights of nature, offer various examples of their application, and also present artistic projects that address the rights of nature.<\/p>\n<p>Robo \u0160varc is a visual artist, author, curator, and translator. Since 2013, he has been working on a long-term project called Lecture Art: a dialogue between all those who care about the current cultural, social, and environmental state of society. The project includes exhibitions, festivals, lectures, discussions, performances, gastronomic events, artivism, and other forms of engagement.<br \/>\nIn 2021, he published his book Non Exit and a translation of Milo Rau&#8217;s book Kongo Tribunal. He is currently finalizing the translation of Florian Malzacher&#8217;s book Social Games: Contemporary Political Theater.<br \/>\nHe is a co-founder of the civic association Bezn\u00e1dej a Z\u00fafalstvo (Hopelessness and Despair), which is dedicated exclusively to utopian environmental-artistic-social projects \u2013 for example, the ongoing phyto- and mycoremediation of an elementary school orchard in the wider toxic area of Istrochem in Bratislava.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2008, Ecuador granted subjective rights to &#8222;nature or Pachamama&#8220; at the constitutional level.
