Behind the winery are Marián and Evla Vlašič, who began in 2021 by rescuing and revitalizing the abandoned vineyards of Vajnory. Their story is a return to their roots—to the family winemaking tradition, to the old vineyards, and to the work that begins in the vineyard and ends only in the bottle.

The winery operates on a small scale with an emphasis on the wine’s natural character. In the vineyards at the foot of the Little Carpathians, they primarily grow Pesecká Leánka, Welschriesling, and Cabernet Sauvignon; the grapes are harvested by hand, and the wines are aged in ceramic vessels, barrels, glass demijohns, and stainless steel tanks.

Their philosophy is rooted in respect for nature, tradition, and the Vajnory terroir: Vajnory vineyards, a cellar in Vajnory, minimal intervention, and wines free of unnecessary additives. Their selection also includes orange wines, wines made using the battonage and sur lie methods, fortified wines, and wines aged for extended periods on whole berries.

An evening with Vlašič Winery will be an encounter with a local, urban, and at the same time very personal winery that demonstrates that natural wine doesn’t have to come from far away—it can grow right on the outskirts of Bratislava, in old vineyards that someone has taken back into their care.

The tasting will be structured as a guided tasting of several samples, accompanied by a gourmet snack from the kitchen of Rómerov dom. Due to the limited capacity of the historic venue and the intimate nature of the event, we recommend booking tickets in advance.

Bratislava has a new home for natural wine.
