A guided tour with the project\u2019s creators.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Built in 1953, the Svornos\u0165 printing works was one of the first post-war buildings in the printing industry \u2014 with structures designed to support machinery weighing tens of tonnes, glass-block skylights and exposed concrete. Today, based on a design by the GutGut studio (who were nominated for the CE-ZA-AR award for the first phase of the project), it is being transformed into one of the last authentic loft developments in Bratislava. The tour leads from the underground \u2018Temple\u2019 with its seven-metre-high ceilings, through show flats with a ceiling height of 5.3 metres, up to the roof extension. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how the original structural framework, the Milanese walls of the underground car park and the bespoke glass-reinforced concrete come together in a conversion that does not mask the industrial heritage but builds upon it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The conversion of the Svornos\u0165 printing works (1953) into loft accommodation.
