The exhibition connects diverse perspectives on space – from the physical environment, materials and ways of using them, through social relationships and human needs, to digital technologies and ideas about possible futures. It focuses on ecological and social challenges, sustainability, new forms of coexistence and the possibilities of technological innovation. Using product, graphic and multimedia design and experimental creation, it opens up a discussion about our relationship to the planet and to worlds that are still emerging.

The Space to Space project was created in international cooperation between twelve universities from nine countries: Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Poland, Israel, Taiwan, Belgium and Austria. The main initiators and organizers of the exhibition project are the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomas Bata University in Zlín and the Faculty of Woodworking of the Technical University in Zvolen. Their cooperation has long been creating a platform for dialogue between various design disciplines, pedagogical approaches and cultural experiences.

The project connects physical and mental spaces, reality and fiction, science and art. The common starting point is the search for new ways of designing in a changing world – from everyday life to ideas about future environments. The original presentation in Faro, Portugal included sixty student projects. The exhibition at the ÚĽUV Design Studio brings a selection of works from this collection adapted to the space, while at the same time preserving the lines of thought and international representation of the original exhibition ensemble. The diversity of works ranges from furniture and utility objects to jewelry and clothing, to graphics, animation and digital media. The projects deal with materials, ecological issues, spatial perception, human interaction with technology and possible forms of life in the future.

Exhibiting authors:

SK – Hana Šegedová, Gréta Brajerová, Paulína Abrahámová, Martin Kopera, Filip Huraj, Viktória Palúchová, Samuel Rusnák, Ema Kováčová, Martina Hatalová

CZ – Adam Kratochvíl, Anna Chodurová, Marietta Brandisová, Zuzana Buňatická, Tereza Sedláčková, Elizabeth Bugyiová, Šárka Nešporová, Matouš Marek, Jan Kroulík, Jakub Hrdina, Marek Ondřej, Vladimír Vykoukal, Martin Mejvald, Sofia Blahútová, Theo Fekar, Sára Timošová, Michal Grzebinski, Barbora Gajdošová, Kateřina Vyroubalová, Matúš Talčík

PL – Michał Sieczka

SI – Umihana Dizdarević, Marko Gorenak, Anja Tudjan, Nina Vranješ, Jaka Kordiš, Matic Lesjak, Črt Štrubelj

IL – Sunny Lustov

PT – David Voznyak

TW – Kuan-Zhu Chen, Guan-Bo Huang, Suan-Wu Sung, An-Chieh Cheng

AT – Ron Feldman, Felix Stängle, Kateryna Simson

Curators: Elena Farkašová, Zuzana Tončíková, Vít Jakubíček

Exhibition layout: Ivan Pecháček, Vladimír Kovařík

Visual identity / graphic design: Václav Skácel

Initiators and organizers: Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Product Design Studio, Digital Design Studio, Faculty of Multimedia Communications), Technical University in Zvolen (Faculty of Woodwork, Department of Furniture and Interior Design)

Participating universities: University of Fine Arts in Bratislava (SK), Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica (SK), Masaryk University in Brno (CZ), University of Algarve (PT), National Taipei University of Technology (TW), Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (IL), Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (PL), Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana (SI), Erasmus University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Brussels (BE), University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten (AT)

Opening: 10. 11. 2026 at 17:00

Exhibition duration: 12. 11. 2026 – 25. 2. 2027

Opening hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 14:00 – 18:00

The ÚĽUV design studio in Bratislava will present the international exhibition Space to Space, which opens up questions about the relationship between humans and the environment, society and technology through the work of students and young designers.
