Hermann Nitsch – Homage to the Colours

Hermann Nitsch was known for his interdisciplinary practice that encompassed performance, painting, musical composition, and more. Having trained at Vienna’s Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in the 1950s, the artist became a pioneer of the city’s avant-garde scene in the 60s and 70s, staging radical and controversial performances as part of the Viennese Actionism movement. Curators: Sammlung Werner Trenker and Nitsch Foundation.

Bratislava in Movement

The international festival of contemporary dance Bratislava in movement is recognized by the European community and brings a mix of both Slovak and world dance art. The 28th edition of the Bratislava in Movement international festival will showcase a selection of contemporary dance from Spain. Starting on 5 October 2024, audiences will not only see artists from the Iberian Peninsula but also works from five other ensembles – from France, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The festival will culminate on 20 Novembert 2024, with a performance by the exceptional Spanish female ensemble Mucha Muchacha.

Film Festival Be2Can

The 11th edition of Be2Can, which will present films from three of the most prestigious festivals in Cannes, Berlin and Venice, will premiere twelve films, including the magnificent opus Megalopolis, the passion project of the visionary director Francis Ford Coppola. The Film Europe cinema in Pistori Palace in Bratislava will once again become the centre of the festival, where most of the side events will also take place. The festival will open on 9 October at Cinema City Eurovea Bratislava with the black and white Mexican film La Cocina by director Alonso Ruizpalacios.
