American experimental-rock whirlwind Algiers returns to Bratislava with its fourth album Shook.
Algiers is an experimental rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band was formed in 2007 and consists of vocalist and guitarist Franklin Fisher, bassist Ryan Mahan, guitarist Lee Tesche, and drummer Matt Tong. Their music can be described as a unique blend of post-punk, soul, rap, and industrial sounds. They are known for their high-energy live performances and have opened for bands such as Depeche Mode and Interpol.
Algiers gathered a number of like-minded artists and created their fourth album Shook. Stacked with guests spanning icons through to future stars, with Algiers as a connecting bridge between worlds and sounds, Shook is a lightning rod for an elusive yet universal energy and feeling. The album deals with topics such as a spiritual and geographical homecoming, a strategy of communion in a burning world, the story of an end of a relationship or an Atlanta front porch summer party.
