Franz Liszt and Bratislava – online
26. November 1820 – It was probably in the current Liszt Pavilion of the College Library garden where the young Franz Liszt was introduced into society.
Being only 9 years old, three enthusiastic counts decided to support the young Liszt with a regular stipend to help him go studying in Vienna and launching his splendid career as an artist.
When older, Franz Liszt liked to return to Bratislava to visit his relatives and friends and to hold concerts. The most usual venue for playing and conducting was the St. Martin’s Dome.
This event is to commemorate the big romantic piano player and composer who started his career here in Bratislava 200 years ago!
