Human Face – Freedom or Death

The tribute to Alexander Dubček on the 100th anniversary of his birth as seen by 37 visual artists

The exhibition project of contemporary modern art creatively presents works of art on a given topic. It was created on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Dubček as a hommage to an important personality of Europe and the world and can be found on the 3rd floor of the Bratislava Castle.

The exhibition, through various works from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and the USA, reflects the time and life of Alexander Dubček. It consists of very different artistic expressions. Expressive, dramatic and realistic interpretation of the topic is guaranteed by Katarína Alexyová Fígerová, Mária Bidelnicová, Slavomír Brezina, Stanislav Bubán, Ivan Bukovský, Laco Černý, Juraj Čutek, Martin Dzurek, Ľubomír Guman, Soňa Herényiová, Ján Hlavatý, Svetozár Ilavský, Jozef Jankovič, Boris Jirků, Katarína Kissoczy, Marián Komáček, Martin Král, Fero Kráľ, Pavol Kráľ, Dušan Králik, Milan Lukáč, Igor Mosný, Cleopatra Muchová, Dušan Pacúch, Ivan Pavle, Igor Piačka, Peter Pollág, Michael Rittstein, Andrej Rudavský, Ondrej Rudavsý Jr., Jozef Srna, Róbert Szittay, Martin Šafárik, Iveta Tomanová, Jakub Trajter, Ján Ťapák and Andy Warhol.

The exhibition is organized by the LECA production company and the LECA Civic Association in cooperation with the Slovak National Museum – Historical Museum and the Association of Theorists, Critics and Art Historians. The curator of the project is Dagmar Kudoláni Srnenská.
