Konvergencie 2020

The 21st edition of Konvergencie, an international chamber music festival held in Bratislava from 16 to 20 September, will feature Slovak premieres, big classical pieces, electronica and multi-genre musical adventures.

Audio Electronics Live

An unconventional convergence mosaic of electronic, classical and modern music will include Slovak premieres of works such as Casanova´s Giovanni Sollima Sonata, Dhipli Zyia by Iannis Xenakis a Aphorisms by Vladimir Mendelssohn.

Bach, Berger, Beethoven, Brahms

The big B-4 of classical music does not need any special introduction. At Konvergencie, you will hear their interpretations by excellent Slovak and foreign artists, such as world-renowned Romanian viola player Vladimir Mendelssohn. The programme will also feature Beethoven-inspired Pathetique performed by Roman Berger (1930).

Marián Varga: Piesne a hry

Ľalia poľná, Slnečnice, Pomôž mi, Smutná ranná električka, Z ďatelín, Možno and many other well-known songs in new arrangements by Vladislav Šarišský, but also unknown pieces by Marián Varga, which he composed as a young musical art student, played by Ivan Šiller.

Bratislava Chamber Music Night

A traditional convergence chamber musical marathon, retrospection of online concerts (live this time!), from classical pieces by Dvořák and Brahms interpreted by major figures of Slovak interpretation art, through music by composers related to Bratislava to piano quintets playing Johann Nepomuk Hummel and Alexander Albrecht – Bratislava Chamber Music Night will be a real celebration.

Children themes with music for adults. Playing at home as a hobby led to multi-genre songs, an album and a book where song lyrics are presented as short stories.

Ballads, 10 Simple Melodies, Tehillim

Three distinctive and outside-the-box projects will be the final and symbolic act of and farewell to 2020 Konvergencie at Design Factory, the festival home stage. Songwriting inspired by alternative rock, folk and folk ballads performed by Robert Pospiš and Martin Sillay, plus an original poly-genre melee of pop, classical music, electronica and jazz in a new project of a clarinet player Branislav Dugovič will be followed by Jewish melodies in an authentic performance by a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Michal Paľko and Mojše Band.
