Bratislava Mozart Festival
The 10th edition of the Bratislava Mozart Festival is a reason for a short reflection or even a small balance. In the ten years of its existence, the event has undergone a natural evolution. It has found its place in the structure of Bratislava music events and time has sufficiently tested its viability.
On a personal level, I am glad that, thanks to the festival, significantly more Mozart’s music is performed in Bratislava by elite interpretation specialists. In addition to repeated performances of the Gran Partita and the Requiem, other wonderful Mozart opuses such as Les petite Rien, Sei Notturni, Concerto for Flute and Harp, the great Symphony in G minor, or an interesting arrangement of the Jupiter Symphony by Peter Lichtenthal. The artistic identity of the event was greatly influenced by the music of “Pressburg” authors (Zimmermann, Druschetzky, Sperger), who were able to create extremely valuable opuses just in the era of Mozart.
Several of them have already been performed in past festival editions, others are in the current program and in the dramaturgical plan of the following years. In the jubilee 10th year, we have prepared a concert by Ensemble Dialoghi with the amazing Spanish pianist Cristina Esclapez and the Italian phenomenal clarinetist Lorenzo Coppola. I am personally pleased that, after many years of planning, we will finally listen to Mozart’s songs performed by the Ukrainian sister duo Olga and Natalya Pasichnyk.
And last but not least, we have high artistic expectations from the young Polish ensemble Quartetto Nero. We traditionally open the festival with the performance of Mozart’s Requiem, and the event will culminate with a concert by the Flemish orchestra Terra Nova Collective with conductor Vlad Weverberg and soloist Aurelia Vişovan. Allow me to cordially invite you to the anniversary edition of the Bratislava Mozart Festival. Take advantage of this year’s attractive offer of top concerts and let yourself be tempted by unusual experiences that will resonate with you for a long time.
