Poisonous Frequencies & Joke Lanz + Nina Pixel

Czech-Austrian power trio Poisonous Frequencies together with Joke Lanz are headed to Bratislava’s A4. Slovak musician Nina Pixel will also perform.

The trio Poisonous Frequencies, consisting of Federsel (guitar, electronics), Petr Vrba (trumpet) and Didi Kern (drums), freely swims in the waters of improvised electro-acoustic music with overlaps into rock and jazz. On the current tour, they are joined by Swiss “turntablist” Joke Lanz, also known as Sudden Infant, who combines elements of ritualism and anarchic playfulness in his virtuoso gramophone playing (he performed a set with Shelley Hirsch at the Next festival a few years ago).

Slovak musician and DJ Nina Pixel lives in Berlin and her work has been stylistically ranging from techno to conceptual soundscape experiments for several years. The epic double album Ancestral Archeology, nominated for the Radio_Head Awards in the category Experimental Music, was released in autumn 2022 on the Weltschmerzen label and impressively combines folklore inspirations with elements of club aesthetics and abstract electroacoustic music.
