SLOVAK PHILHARMONIC CHOIR
Pavol Krška drew the interest of the public with his suggestive sacral pieces already several times. He uses in them his deep knowledge of classical and contemporary setting as well as his pedagogic experiences. In the projects for choir he evokes the atmosphere of the pieces of renaissance and baroque masters in many respects. The Field Mass by Bohuslav Martinů is a chamber-like parallel to the colossal War Requiem by Benjamin Britten; both pieces radically reject the horror of war and the sacred principle intersects here with the secular principle. Jevgenij Iršai is an author, who approaches the events of life with full responsibility. Though the skepticism and the miseries of our reality permanently prevail in his compositions, he always offers positive energy and enthusiasm to overcome them. Because the basic platform of his work is the continual search for harmony.
