Spring 2018 in Danubiana

The Gallery Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum has prepared something special for its guests – a handful of Slovak as well as foreign artists and their new art pieces worth checking out:

Peter Pollág, an outstanding Slovak artist, will introduce a selection of his work to celebrate his 60th birthday. Selected works refer back to the most important historical and political events, such as the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The monumental sculpture “the Danube Wings” on the edge of the peninsula near the Danubian Gallery was made by none other than Pollág himself.

Igor Piačka is an illustrator that likes to work with living models, a true rarity in our country. His illustrations beautifully portray emotions and more often have a deep meaning. His best-known book illustrations include One Thousand and One Nights, Stories of Dragon Emperors, Bible and Witcher’s Holiday by Július Balco.

Xenia Hausner, an Austrian artist, presents herself through her large-format paintings that capture the current world situation. In the exhibition titled “Uncertain Times” she focuses on human failures – loss of love and the concept of our existence in today’s uncertain times.

Opening: 24th March at 4 P.M.
