Zola Jesus

Zola Jesus has announced the last few concerts of her European tour in unusual concert halls. One of them will take place in the Big Concert Studio of Slovak Radio on October 7, 2023.

Singer and artist Zola Jesus – real name Nika Roza Danilova – can be known from six studio albums and concerts for Pitchfork, KEXP, NPR and others. Her performances are able to “break through” reality, thanks to which the listener gets into a “dreamlike – otherworldly atmosphere”. It is no different with the recording Arkhon and its opening single Lost that was released on the day of the spring solstice. She collaborated with producer Randall Dunn on the album. In 2022, she came out with a live EP recording Alive in Cappadocia, which contains four songs. She recorded it in a two-thousand-year-old chapel in Turkey, where the dynamics of her vocal range stood out.

At the Bratislava concert, a selection from her older work, cover versions of her traditional compositions and also several new ones will be heard. The concert will take place as part of the Nu Sound Of… edition.
