4 Millions in the Museum / What we have acquired
Museum Exhibition
The Slovak National Museum manages the historical treasures for next generations. During its existence, it has acquired more than 4 million exhibits. A selection of the most interesting ones that the museum has acquired during the last 15 years is currently exhibited in the main building of the museum on the Danube river bank. It features unique exhibits such as the Justus collection, the treasure from the Bratislava Castle Hill – Celtic remains from the 1st century AD. Another excellent part of the exhibition is a selection of medieval coins from Svätý Jur, as well as the Slovak gothic artwork “Angels lightbringers” and the sculpture “Abduction of Europe” from the Viennese porcelain works. The fourth millionth piece of the collection is a lion from the Bojnice ZOO.
