Advent Concerts in Trnava
Just a short trip from Bratislava – festive music in the unique atmosphere of a historic church. During the four Sundays of Advent, Trnava will host a series of intimate concerts bringing various forms of festive music – from classical and choral to orchestral and folk.
The Four Advent Concerts continue a beloved tradition, inviting visitors to slow down and enjoy moments of reflection in the beautiful acoustics of St. James Church.
Each concert offers a different mood – from the purity of boys’ voices to the warmth of chamber music and the power of traditional melodies. What connects them all is peace, depth, and the spirit of Advent.

🗓 Sunday 30 November 2025 – Bratislava Boys’ Choir
The opening concert features the renowned Bratislava Boys’ Choir under the direction of Magdaléna and Gabriel Rovňák. Guest of the evening: soprano Adriana Šimková.
The programme includes sacred works, Christmas themes, and compositions by old and modern masters.

🗓 Sunday 7 December 2025 – Katarína Koščová with band and choir
The second concert will be performed by Katarína Koščová, whose Advent performances have become a seasonal tradition.
Accompanied by her band, string quartet, and choir, she will present a mix of original songs, Slovak carols, and beloved Christmas classics.

🗓 Sunday 14 December 2025 – Winter Symphony
The third concert, titled Winter Symphony, brings together Trnava musicians and young talents from the Harmónia Children’s and Youth Orchestra.
The evening will feature orchestral arrangements of Slovak and international Christmas compositions performed by Cantica Kids, Cantica Nova, and guests.

🗓 Sunday 21 December 2025 – Heavenly Music from Terchová
The final concert features Heavenly Music from Terchová, an ensemble combining authentic Terchová folklore with gentle elements of world music.
Old carols and new arrangements, violins, shepherd’s flutes, accordion, and polyphonic singing will fill the church with a powerful and emotional finale to the Advent season.
