BACH / Convergences 2020

It fills me with awareness of the wonder of life, with a feeling of the incredible marvel of being a human being. The music is never the same for me, never. Each day is something new, fantastic, unbelievable. That is Bach, like nature, a miracle!“ said the legendary Catalan cellist Pablo Casals. The international chamber music festival Convergences invites us to wonder – to a series of ten concerts, at which renowned Slovak and foreign performers will offer their view to the timeless work of the German baroque genius.

At the Convergences unique sets will resound: Cello Suites (Robert Cohen, Jozef Lupták), Sonatas and Partitas for Violin (Ilya Gringolts, Milan Paľa), Brandenburg Concertos (Igor Karško, concert master), Goldberg Variations (Miki Skuta, piano) and a selection of Partitas for Harpsichord (Mahan Esfahani). Part of the winter edition will be also an organ recital, a children‘s concert, Cantatas with Solamente naturali, a reading and a lecture about the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach. BACH, 4 letters, 4 tones, endless music.
