Battle of Bratislava
Come and experience the reconstruction of the conflict from the period of the first half of the 17th century, set in the environment of historical Hungary
You can look forward to a historical camp, examples of period life, examples of regiments, a period parade through the Old Town and of course the Battle of Bratislava – a reconstruction of a baroque military clash from 1619. We will move in time to 1619 and it will be a reconstruction of the battle, or a short siege , which took place in front of the city gates on October 14, 1619.
Gabriel Bethlen, the organizer of the second uprising of the Hungarian estates against the Catholic Habsburgs, at that time controlled the rest of Upper Hungary, and only Bratislava stood in his way to Vienna. After an unequal battle, the superior force of Bethlen’s men captured the positions of the imperial soldiers and the latter marched victoriously into Bratislava, where Palatine Žigmund Forgáč gave him the castle and the Hungarian royal crown.
