Biela Vrana 2025

At a time when democracies around the world are facing weakening and growing attacks, Biela vrana 2025 pays tribute to hundreds of thousands of people across Slovakia who defend its pillars through their daily actions. Their courage and perseverance prove that Slovakia is not a country of subjects, but of citizens who are not afraid to stand up to power when it abuses its position.

The White Raven was founded in 2008 by the Fair-play Alliance and VIA IURIS as an award for socially beneficial and courageous civic action and was jointly awarded until 2018. Since 2019, the award has been presented by the Bystriny civic association.

It is awarded as a token of gratitude to the exceptional people around us who are willing to defend truth and justice, who have demonstrated civic courage through specific actions, suppressed their personal interests in the name of public benefit, values, or principles, and in doing so may have taken risks, suffered various injustices, or experienced condemnation.
