Jozef Podhoranský is a leading Slovak cellist. He graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and is laureate of the Frico Kafenda Prize (1988). Since 1978 he teaches at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and since 2002 also at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno.
