DAYS OF EARLY MUSIC 2018
Florilegium of musical styles
The 23rd year of the festival Days of Early Music, for the first time organized by the Centre of Early Music under the aegis of the Music Centre Slovakia, in eight concerts brings a view of European music culture from the 16th to the beginning of the 19th century. The term „florilegium“ symbolically refers to the variety of the period musical styles (mainly Italian, French and German), which have entered into mutual interaction, whereby this cultural exchange took place almost independently from secular or confessional conflicts and so it can be regarded as an important unifying factor of the common European area. The dramaturgy traditionally brings top specialized ensembles and rare pieces into historical premises and concert halls of Bratislava.
