Deň architektúry: Industrial Walk

Hunt for the last traces of the architecture of the past in one of the most important industrial areas in Central Europe with architects Eva Belláková and Zuzana Zacharová. Mikuláš Bartal will complement the excursion with Slovnaft history.

Before World War I, Bratislava was one of the most developed industrial cities in Hungary. The most significant event was the founding of the Apollo refinery. In the area between Mlynské nivy, Karadžičova, Dostojevského rad, Pribinova, and Košická streets, other factories were established, without which the city would not be what it is today. The bombing of the refinery in 1944 marked the beginning of the end of industrial growth. The project was created in cooperation with Slovnaft on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Apollo refinery, whose historical successor is Slovnaft, a member of the MOL Group.
