Dni majstrov ÚĽUV 2025

On September 6 and 7, 2025, a hundred producers whose craftsmanship is admired by people of all ages will present their work in Bratislava’s Old Town.

This year, ÚĽUV celebrates 80 years since its founding – eight decades of protecting, supporting and developing traditional crafts in Slovakia. Visitors to the 35th edition of the largest urban craft festival, Dni majstrov ÚĽUV (ÚĽUV Masters Days), will see for themselves that craftsmanship is still alive today. Visitors can look forward to original masterpieces made with generational pride, demonstrations of traditional techniques, and a colorful cultural program at Hviezdoslavovo Square. The demonstration area at Rybné Square will feature the processing of sheep’s wool and angora wool, the production of bells, fujara pipes, čilejkársky čepec hats, iron-shod Easter eggs, blueprinting, oversized clay jugs, woodturning, blacksmithing, weaving from palm leaves, and basket weaving.

The youngest visitors are warmly welcomed in the craft workshops of the School of Crafts
ÚĽUV, which has been included in UNESCO’s List of Good Practices for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage since last year. On Panská Street in front of Bibiana, children can try their hand at pottery wheel throwing, making corn husk crafts, working with wire, textiles, leather, and painting on glass. There will also be a relaxation and play area.

The festival atmosphere will be complemented by food zones offering Slovak dishes and an outdoor exhibition entitled Celebrating Craftsmanship. For 80 Years.
