MIKAMO orchestra and Quasars Ensemble will perform together in the Small Concert Studio of the RTVS

The concert of the Central European Chamber Orchestra MIKAMO offers a unique sensory and intellectual journey through four works dealing with aspects of philosophical immanence in our world.

Xenakis, whose centenary we commemorate this year, placed the planet Earth itself at the center of his Arour composition, while Anea Crystal from Chaya Czernowin derives its name from the imaginary element (ionic crystal) invented by the composer, and finally Tornyai’s Ach Gott und Herr paraphrasing the Baroque perception of the divine presence.

We find that the inclusion of historical compositions in the creative process provides us with an extremely necessary approach to the historical continuum, without the need for any aesthetic compromises. The paraphrase of the first part of Mozart’s Serenade, KV 525, will thus be a kind of collective work of all the artists involved.

The guest ensemble Quasars Ensemble from Bratislava will present a fresh work of Vladimir Bokes called Coll’Age, filled with numerous references to Mozart and Xenakis, as well as the premiere of Polónyi’s sports miniature The Relay Race.

The Central European Chamber Orchestra MIKAMO was founded in 2007 by successful graduates of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. The ensemble considers its concerts as a kind of Gesamtkunstwerk and historical music repertoire as an extrapolation of new works of our time. MIKAMO focuses mainly on living composers and repertoire of contemporary music, and at the same time supports artistic continuity in defining the Central European musical heritage through regular performances in selected concert halls in Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and in general in Central Europe.

Come on Monday, September 12, at 7 p.m. to enjoy the music full of emotions and transfer for a moment to a completely different world. Entry is free charge.
