Fire! + Bratislavský improvizačný orchester

Nordic power trio Fire! consisting of Mats Gustafsson (saxophones), Johan Berthling (bass guitar) and Andreas Werliin (drums) has earned a special place in the music world. Their music has won over audiences in Europe, the USA, Canada, Brazil and Japan. The members of the trio have collaborated with figures of the experimental scene such as Jim O’Rourke, Oren Ambarchi or Stephen O’Malley, as well as Sonic Youth. The recent album Testament was recorded by producer Steve Albini and sees the project returning from an expanded version of Fire! Orchestra back to the raw, stripped-down basics – just a trio with bass and drums.

Plus, as always, a different and always surprising performance by the cast of A4’s variable resident ensemble: The Bratislava Improvisation Orchestra. The ensemble is a loose group of musicians playing both acoustic and electronic instruments, dedicated to freely improvised music of various forms.
