FRANTIŠEK BÍLEK, ALFONS MUCHA – THE LORD’S PRAYER
Intimate exhibition of drawings and graphics presents two different portrayals of fundamental Christian prayer which belongs to important works in the production context of sculptor František Bílek and painter Alfons Mucha.
František Bílek started to work on his first author’s book, The Lord’s Prayer, as early as 1900. With an introduction by Otokar Březina, it was published in the following year by Nový život in Nový Jičín.
Alfons Mucha’s The Lord’s Prayer was published in Paris in 1899 and at the same time, a limited edition was published by publisher Bedřich Kočí.
