In Jazz We Trust: Klemens Marktl & New York Xperience

The In Jazz We Trust series of events presents Austrian drummer, composer, and bandleader Klemens Marktl on October 1, who will introduce his newly formed jazz band New York Xperience at the Nu Spirit bar.

Thanks to his international career as one of the most sought-after drummers from Europe to the US, he regularly collaborates with leading jazz musicians from around the world.

In March 2024, Marktl released his first album under the name Klemens Marktl – Xperience, on which he collaborated with Grammy-nominated saxophonist Tim Armacost. The lineup also features pianist Misha Tsiganov, a two-time Latin Grammy nominee, a native of St. Petersburg who has lived and worked in New York since 1993, as well as New York double bassist Josh Ginsburg, whose playing has been described as “the foundation of counterpoint, funk, and swing.”

New York Xperience is an international quartet with brilliant soloists and a pulsating rhythm section that provides each soloist with exactly what they need – energy, support, and space for improvisation.
