The starting point is found image fragments – historical anatomies with schematic bends and inclinations, supplemented by contemporary Pilates instructions taken from the internet, which offers daily ideas about the ideal body and lifestyle. The author understands these anonymous, collective images of physical disciplines as archival traces. She does not reproduce them literally, but uses them as mnemonic devices that trigger her own, very personal story.

The key aspect is the transformation of meanings: from collective to individual, from anonymous to personal, from virtual to material. The jewelry becomes a palimpsest on which layers of meaning are rewritten. These are wearable objects—brooches and pendants—installed directly on shirts, which emphasizes their intimate and personal character. The mirrors embedded in some of the jewelry complete this strategy – they refer to diary entries and introspection, directly drawing the viewer into the work and connecting the past of the fragment with the present of the wearer.

The chosen approach also allows the author to reflect on the pressure of contemporary culture, which overwhelms the individual with an endless stream of instructions for a healthy lifestyle – from morning meditation to evening Pilates, from lemon water to perfecting the plank. However, Machatová does not moralize; she does not force us to choose from this virtual archive of obligations. Instead, she turns this helplessness from the excess of contemporary exercise instructions to her advantage: she transforms the external, often utilitarian discourse on the body and discipline into an intimate, material object—a piece of jewelry that bears the mark of personal experience rather than collective obligation.

As a whole, the collection represents a specific artistic approach that transforms found images and social narratives of past and present physical culture into the form of original jewelry. Its power lies in its ability to function as a memory stimulus and a carrier of transformed meanings.
