Jean-Louis Matinier & Kevin Seddiki

After having travelled the world with great names of chanson or classical music, Jean-Louis Matinier and Kevin Seddiki join forces to create a music, vibrant with their combined sensitivities. An original journey, from Johann Sebastian Bach to Jacques Brel, full of contrasts and delicacy. Jean-Louis Matinier and Kevin Seddiki have dedicated their talent in various registers from classical to improvisation. They have been able to cover a wide range of paths and to mark out their paths with multiple artistic experiences. The former has accompanied Juliette Greco, Anouar Brahem and Renaud Garcia Fons, the latter Dino Saluzzi, Al di Meola, the Voce Quartet and Philippe Catherine.

In this album, these atypical musicians offer us a concert that is just as atypical. A chamber music open to the world, rich in a palette of subtle and very personal timbres. Tunes from different eras where sounds, textures and playing modes are explored, arranged and modelled in order to create a unique universe for each piece. Kevin Seddiki’s guitar and Jean-Louis Matinier’s accordion are revealed in a different light. They dialogue and complement each other in a bewitching atmosphere. With “Rivages” we go beyond the virtuoso demonstration. They take us gently into a singular musical universe, made of unique tunes, improvisations, rhythms and silences. A tasty journey between eras and musical styles.
