Komorné koncerty a dialógy

An event full of art that combines the beauty of music with stimulating conversations. In the historic premises of the Old Lyceum, guests can enjoy concerts performed by leading chamber ensembles, accompanied by discussions with performers and experts. Visitors will be able to discover music not only as an artistic experience, but also as a story.

On Tuesday, October 7, during a dialogue and concert in the Hall of the Old Lyceum, the atmosphere of the Viennese Biedermeier salons will come to life, where the desire for convivial social entertainment was skillfully combined with cultural experiences and educational benefits. There will also be discussions about Bratislava natives, contemporaries who knew each other and met at musical productions in their hometown and nearby Vienna, where they spent part of their lives. Guitar virtuoso, composer, and teacher J.K. Mertz (1806-1856) was a famous and respected artist in Europe in the first half of the 19th century, as was piano virtuoso and composer J.N. Hummel (1778-1837). The concert will feature virtuoso compositions and transcriptions of selected Schubert art songs for solo guitar, as well as arrangements of famous contemporary opera works that were extremely popular at the time, or adaptations of their well-known melodies in various musical forms and interpretative ensembles.
