Music in the Park, a part of the Viva Musica! festival

For a second year running Music in the Park will bring a series of delightful open-air chamber concerts to Janko Kráľ Park. The oldest urban park in central Europe will resound every Saturday afternoon to classical music rendered by established artists from home and abroad, professional chamber ensembles, and also last year’s laureates of the Viva Musica! festival Grand Prix awards and talented students of music. The concerts in Janko Kráľ Park preserve the indispensable atmosphere of the park, with no podia to disturb it, and offer an opportunity for the informal presentation of music. This year, in all 32 artists and musical ensembles will perform in these concerts. Music in the Park is one of the accompanying events of the Viva Musica! festival and will culminate at the end of summer in a concluding concert, featuring a symphony orchestra composed of the victors of the Viva Musica! festival Grand Prix, finalists of the pilot year of the Viva Street! project, and professional musicians. Under the baton of Braňo Kostka, the programme to be heard in Janko Kráľ Park will be assembled from the most beautiful works of classical music.
