Peter Lipa + Zea + Emile Londonien

The opening concert of Jazzáky will take place on September 4 at Designfactory in Jarovce.

The host of the traditional September warm-up for Bratislava Jazz Days Slovenská sporiteľňa is Peter Lipa, an icon of Slovak jazz, who will also close the late summer evening with his concert.

The concert will also feature Zea, whose real name is Alžbeta Ferencová, a singer, actress, and dancer who represents contemporary alternative pop with elements of soul, electronica, and RnB. Her debut album Burning Light (2021), created in collaboration with Slovak-Canadian producer Milan André, brought a distinctive and powerful musical expression. Her first single, Is This Love from 2018, already hinted that Zea was bringing a completely new sound and energy to the domestic scene. She is currently working on a new album, in which she further develops her unique musical style and artistic vision.

The group Emile Londonien will present their second album Inwards, which references the contemporary British jazz scene, at the opening concert of Jazzáky. The trio is known for its ability to combine jazz, broken beat, house, and RnB in an original and distinctive way. Emile Londonien, who are emerging as leaders of the new French jazz scene, invited prestigious artists such as Laurent Bardainne, Jowee Omicil, and Léon Phal, whom you may remember from last year’s Jazzáky warm-up, to participate in the album. The trio consists of pianist and keyboardist Nils Boyny, bassist Théo Tritsch, and drummer Matthieu Drago.
