The lecture will last from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and before or after the lecture, there will be an opportunity to tour the exhibition itself with an audio guide.

A little more than 40 years after the deciphering of hieroglyphics, an exhibition was organized in Pressburg/Bratislava, which also featured ancient Egyptian artifacts. They were organized and described according to the model of the British Museum. Two years after this exhibition, a collection of Egyptian artifacts, which is now the largest in Slovakia, was moved from Vienna to Pressburg. The lecture will be led by:

Mgr. Jozef Hudec, PhD., a Slovak Egyptologist, archaeologist, and political scientist. He is the co-director of Polish-Slovak research in Tell el-Retábí, Egypt, which is being conducted in cooperation with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw. The project, co-financed by the Slovak Gedíd Aigyptos Foundation, has been running since 2007. From 2018 to 2022, he also led research by orientalists and archaeologists from the Slovak Academy of Sciences at the Sudanese site of Duwejm Wad Hadž.

The original exhibition Tutankhamun – His Tomb and Treasures presents the greatest archaeological discovery in the world. Thanks to a unique interactive exhibition, visitors will get a glimpse into ancient Egypt and experience the adventure of discovering Tutankhamun’s tomb.

“I see amazing things!” exclaimed Howard Carter 102 years ago when he first looked into Tutankhamun’s tomb. Visitors to the exhibition will experience exactly the same amazement.

Hundreds of artifacts document in a unique way the size and value of the pharaoh’s golden treasure and the historical era in which he lived. Thanks to perfect replicas, visitors will see the exact layout of Tutankhamun’s tomb as it was found. That is, exactly as the tomb was discovered in 1922.
An international team of scientists, archaeologists, artists, and craftsmen worked on the exhibition. Their joint work is a perfect picture of ancient civilization and its rulers. The exhibition is complemented by spectacular immersive reality, which will provide visitors with a truly captivating experience.

The exhibition includes an audio guide that describes the adventure of discovering Tutankhamun’s tomb and provides detailed descriptions of the individual exhibits. For the youngest visitors, there is an entertaining children’s trail that helps them understand the life of the young pharaoh in the ancient world.

The exhibition is open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on weekends from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Tickets are available for a specific date and time. When purchasing, you enter the date and time slot that suits you. The time slot is the time when you need to arrive at the exhibition. Once inside, you can stay as long as you like.
The duration of the exhibition tour is not limited in time other than by the opening hours.
