What if museums were not just archives of the past, but living organisms that are constantly changing and reflecting on themselves?

The collaboration between MMB and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava brings you an online lecture by theorist and curator Clémentine Deliss. She will present her concept of the Metabolic Museum as a space where collections are not archived but constantly reinterpreted, recycled, and subjected to self-criticism.

Deliss is one of the most prominent figures in the current debate on the decolonization of collections and museum institutions. In her work, she combines curatorship, research, and experimental museology.

The lecture will raise fundamental questions about the decolonization of museums and show why it is necessary to retell the stories of objects through different perspectives and voices of those whose past has been overlooked until now.
