Spicy Depository: Shake That Narrative
Organiser’s text:
We’ll kick off this two-day community programme in English with a shared, interactive dinner, complemented by a talk and activities led by the ‘Včera bolo neskoro’ collective, to set the tone for getting to know one another. After dark on Wednesday, the museum courtyard will be transformed into an open-air cinema, where we will screen the documentary The Story of Jenin. The screening will be followed by an open discussion with the film’s director.
On the second day, we’ll kick off with a sound, movement and theatre workshop open to everyone, led by artists Dorota Matejová and Ehaba Ghafri. Together, we will explore our personal stories, emotions, identities and interconnections through movement, sound, theatrical elements and collective activities, and discover new forms of artistic resistance and activism.
The outcome of the workshop will serve as a prelude to the Bratislava premiere concert by Palestinian musician Ahmed Eid, followed by a performance from the Viennese Arab-queer collective Klub Halal. They will bring hot and nostalgic club beats to the after-party in the unique surroundings of the Old Town Hall.
